Even during winter, moose are drawn to Tuckamore Lodge. They are peaceful to watch and heavenly to admire.
Weighing up to 1,200 pounds, some with 50-inch spreads, there are approximately 120,000 moose on the island - the most concentrated population in North America.

Tuckamore's Randy knows how to blow a snow drift away. No doubt that winters can be pretty tough here - even for the heartiest of folks.
We love winter and will make your winter visit a total pleasure. When it comes to the weather in Newfoundland and Labrador, you'll never be stuck for conversation. Folks here love to talk about the weather. And for good reason. Ranging from mildly surprising to downright unpredictable, it can be as spontaneous as the people you'll meet along the way. But with a little planning, it can be just as enjoyable.
