Note: Newfoundland and Labrador is a windy place. For those occasional still days, a bug net may be a consideration if you are very averse to insects and are planning to hike on a forested trail. The majority of time, the bugs are kept at bay! We promise.

Eco & Adventure

Dress Properly:

Taking a tour in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador requires being prepared for any type of weather and any type of conditions. Layered clothing is a must. The weather can change quickly here. It can be sunny one minute, and rainy the next. If you plan on being out on the water, the temperature can drop as much as 15 degrees. It is important to dress appropriately and to plan for having a dry change of clothes should the weather turn bad.

There are many outdoor clothing companies that provide a variety of gear to suit your trip needs. Some of the popular sportswear includes North Face, Arcteryx, Mountain Equipment Co-op, Patagonia, and Marmot to name a few. The following clothing is recommended in planning your stay:

Warm sweater or pullover. Turtleneck or outdoor under gear. T-shirts for those warm, sunny days. Warm woollen socks to keep your feet dry and warm. Cap or hat Gloves (if you are taking a boat trip) Goretex jacket/rain pants or raingear. Waterproof hiking boots with good ankle support. Couple of pairs of hiking shorts.
